Teaching: Kids to Ski

I learned to downhill ski at Sky Tavern, the largest volunteer-operated junior ski program in the U.S. At 16, I was the first disabled skier from the program to become certified through the Professional Ski Instructors of America program. As part of this experience, I was mentored by several Paralympic skiers and had the opportunity to teach kids how to ski in both the regular and adaptive programs. This experience enhanced my confidence in my ability to overcome physical challenges and taught me the value of volunteering and community support, both as a student and as an instructor.
